[ attached is a picture of the little piece in question and tali, as always, has a good eye for spotting replacement parts, so there's little doubt it would help the joint. the fact that tali's never mentioned that she spotted that issue, never mind that she had any intent to repair it, doesn't seem to matter to her here. she's spotted a solution to a mechanical problem, so she's going to fix it.
